Flag Day

Today is Flag Day, the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777. It’s a day for displaying the flag, remembering it’s history, and patriotic celebration. You can read more about it’s history here.

Fittingly, the Supreme Court today dismissed the case brought by a California man who wanted “Under God” removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. Praise the Lord! Read more about the decision, and the history of the case on CCN.com - Court dismisses Pledge case

  1. The justices found a loophole to get out of dealing with the real issue. They just ruled that the Father didn’t have a right to sue on behalf of the girl cause he didn’t have custody. The real issue of the “Under God” and seperation of church and state is still out there for someone else to sue.

Hopefully this quiets the issue for now.

  2. Yes, I agree, the real issue is technically still out there. The Court were able to get out of this one with really stepping on anyone’s toes or making a real decision. Sadly, it’s only a matter of time before someone brings up this issue again, and hopefully the court will have enough guts to make the right ruling then.

  3. Yeah, don’t, like, freak out if I’m the next person to bring it up. I mean I’m a christian to, and I agree that we shouldn’t be afraid and need to expose Christianity out in public. However this is politics, this is a country. Rather or not “Under God” is in the pledge of allegiance or not, or if we support it or not, isn’t going to decide our fate when we die. We need to respect the others in this country of different religions and cultures and prove that we are abideing by the standard and boundries that we set for this country. This is not a religion based country. I’m not ranting here, (Chris said I was one day) I’m simply stating my opinion. And could someone please tell me how to spell “Politic.”

  4. Maybe so Bryan, but this is just one more reflection of our country turning our back on God. God made this country strong and powerful; God had his blessing on this country. I use the word “had” because I fear God is taking his Hand off this country. God help us when he does.

  5. Not a big deal — its just a flag
