Yay, I finally got a bike! I used to have one, but my parents got rid of it when I moved out. Didn’t really have the space or the finances for it when I was at my apartment, so I’ve had to wait until now.
I went out to Montgomery Cyclery to check out their selection and came away with a Trek Navigator 300. Seems like a nice, confortable, quality bike. Had a chance to ride a little today and it rode pretty well.
And yes, I did already wreck
Got a little too cocky going too fast down a hill, and the bike decided not to go around a corner like I wanted it to. Only a skinned knee, luckily. Some of life’s lessons have to be learned the tough way I guess…
I’m still don’t completely understand how Cincy got this ranking, but it’s cool that the city is turning things around, especially after the race riots from a couple years ago.

As the legend goes, this puzzle was written by a lady in California in response to an offer from a gentleman in Philadelphia that he would pay anyone $1,000 who could write a puzzle he could not solve. He failed to do so and paid the $1,000. The answer is one word, and it appears only four times in the Bible (KJV).
Adam, God made out of dust
But thought it best to make me first.
So I was made before man
To answer God’s most Holy plan.
A living being I became
And Adam gave to me my name.
I from his presence withdrew
And more of Adam never knew.
I did my Maker’s law obey
Nor ever want from it astray.
Thousands of miles I go in fear
But seldom on earth appear.
For purpose wise which God did see,
He put a living soul in me.
A soul from me God did claim
And took from me the soul again.
So when from me the soul had fled
I was the same as when first made.
And without hands, or feet, or soul,
I travel on from pole to pole.
I labor hard by day, by night
To fallen man I give the great light.
Thousands of people, young and old
Will by my death great light behold.
No right or wrong can I conceive.
The scripture I can not believe
Although my name therein is found
They are to me an empty sound.
No fear of death doth trouble me
Real happiness I’ll never see.
To Heaven I shall never go
Or to Hell below.
Now when these lines you slowly read
Go search your Bible with all speed.
For that my name is written there
I do honestly to you declare.
NOTE: I haven’t verified that the word only appears four times. Found this on the web somewhere and I’m posting it as is…
Can’t remember where I originally saw this, but I dug it up from some old files on my computer. Enjoy
If College Students Wrote the Bible…
The Last Supper would have been eaten the next morning–cold.
The Ten Commandments would actually be only five– double-spaced and written in a large font.
New edition would be published every two years in order to limit reselling.
Forbidden fruit would have been eaten because it wasn’t cafeteria food.
Paul’s letter to the Romans would become Paul’s email to abuse@romans.gov.
Reason Cain killed Abel: they were roommates.
The place where the end of the world occurs: finals, not Armageddon.
Out go the mules; in come the mountain bikes.
Reason why Moses and followers walked in the desert for 40 years: they didn’t want to ask directions and look like freshmen.
Instead of God creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh, He would have put it off until the night before it was due and then pulled an all-nighter.
Ran across this article on Yahoo and wanted to pass it along.
Yahoo! News – Craig Wilson: Final Word – How many can pass the ‘I’m blessed’ inspection test?
I’m sure many of us, when we inspect our lives, can honestly say that we’re blessed, but how often do we actually admit it when others ask how we’re doing? Imagine the impact Christians could have on the world by simply stating, and showing, that we’re blessed. It got this author thinking and asking questions. How many people have you caused to wonder why you’re happy and smiling today? I, for one, am guilty of not showing that joy lately. Been a little moody/grumpy lately, caused by my own stupidity of course. I’m pointing back in the right direction, though, so things should be looking more “blessed” soon.
God made, Adam bit,
Noah arked, Abraham split,
Joseph ruled, Jacob fooled,
Bush talked, Moses balked,
Pharaoh plagued, people walked,
Sea divided, tablets guided,
Promise landed,
Saul freaked, David peeked,
Prophets warned, Jesus born,
God walked, love talked,
Anger crucified, hope died,
Love rose, Spirit flamed,
Word spread, God remained.

What word am I?
Well, as I’ve said several times before, I want to do more personal writing and be more reflective and deep with the posts, not just be links and such to other sites. I’m actually having some trouble thinking about topics to write about, though, and need a little kick-start. That’s where you, the reader, comes into play. If you have some thoughts on this, post a comment about some issues and topics that you would like for me to possibly write about. I may not cover everything that is mentioned, but it’ll at least help me get the ball rolling…
Thanks, readers!
A car that can outwardly show how you’re feeling? Don’t they have better things to spend their time developing?
“…[W]hat if a car could also express anger, crouching low on its wheel base and glowering with red headlights like a lion about to pounce?”
