Life To Do List
Lately, I’ve been thinking about some goals, some things that I would like to accomplish in my lifetime, basically a life “to-do” list. Here’s the list as it stands now:
- Write a Book
- Visit every state (33 down, 17 to go)
- Visit every national park (10 down, 47 to go)
- Climb a mountain (probably Mt Rainier)
- Hike at least a section of the Appalachian Trail
- Do overseas mission work
- Bungee jump (New Zealand or Zimbabwe)
Reverse bungee jump- done (March 16, 1999)Skydive- done (Aug 25, 2002)Whitewater raft- done (Summer 1996 and August 15th, 2004)
What’s on your life to-do list?
[UPDATE: Added links to the state map and reverse bungee]
[UPDATE #2: Added link to the national park list]
[UPDATE #3: Added whitewater rafting to the list, which I had left off previously since I did it so long ago. Also added links for some of the other goals]

I admire your goals. My uncle is an ex-Colonel in the marines and started to hike the entire Appal. trail but had to return because my aunt got sick. I’m impressed you have visited that many states - does visit in clude driving through?

Yeah, a visit includes driving through, but not a “cheap” drive through, like a corner of the state. There are only a couple states that I’m counting because of drive throughs, and those states included at least a stop for food and driving through a significant portion.

so what states are left?

You need to do one of those “This is my states” thing (see my archives the first month I did my blog I did one for countries and the same site has one for states).

Ash, Look in his archives he has done the states as well. We had a long conversation about going to New Orleans.
These are very admirable goals. I was there when you reversed bungee jump. I have pics somewhere
that was a fun week.
I never thought about it and actually wrote it down. So I will work on my life to-do list and post on my site in the near future.

Paul and Ashlee, I added a link to my visited states map in the main post.
I also added a link to the reverse bungee pic. Robin, if you have more you can pass on, that would be great!

Yea Chris I admire you. Those are some pretty cool goals. I didn’t particulary enjoy the skydiving one. I mean I almost lost my cousin that day! (I think…)

I think we should all have a combination of life goals on which some are serious and others are ‘just for grins’. You did a good job of identifying both.
I with you on 1,5&6.

Sorry I guess I didn’t check out all the archives. Maybe I can help you find a way to do #6.
Jul 17th, 2004 at 23:19:46
lol, I see what you mean Robin. *sigh* Chris is always a step ahead of me…
Jul 18th, 2004 at 18:09:04
Chris, its actually quite suprising that number 6 is not complete with all of our friends (common) who have done mission work overseas. I feel like I am the only one who hasnt been to Africa.
Jul 18th, 2004 at 18:16:21
Chris, I’m sure number 6 can be accomplished. There is a need and God will take you where He needs you. And I do believe it will be one of those moving experiences.

I added a link to a list of National Parks, with the ones I’ve visited checked off.

Ok, people, I haven’t seen anyone really post their life to-do list. Anyone else have one? I know you do…
