  1. I agree with all the princess bride ones :) One of my favorite movies of all time!

    Paul

  2. Oh, yeah, I was glad to see the Pricess Bride ones in there too. Classic movie for sure. Personally, I would have liked to see “Laugh it up, Fuzzball” said by Han Solo in Star Wars on the list :-)

  3. Not a very good list in my book.

  4. What would you add to the list Jeff?

  5. I showed The Princess Bride to my youth group on my last Sunday night at church recently.

Ah, passing the torch to the next generation…

  6. Let’s see…

“You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth” - A Few Good Men

“Bond.. James Bond” - James Bond

    “I’ll Be Back” - Terminator

“My Mama always said, ‘Life was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get.’ - Forest Gump

“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn!” - Gone With the Wind

“Hasta la vista, baby.” - Terminator T2

“Luke, Use the force” - Star Wars
“May the force be with you ”

Go ahead, make my day” - Sudden Impact

“There’s no place like home” - Wizard of Oz

“I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse” Godfather

“Here’s looking at you, kid” - Casablanca

    “E.T., phone home” - E.T.

“Are you talking to me?” - Taxi Driver

  7. Those were pretty good, but personally I would have like to see one from Tommy Boy-it has a ton of great one liners.

  8. I agree, Tommy Boy is awesome!

” I’ve seen some crazy stuff in my time, but that… was… AWESOME!!! Oh, sorry about your car, man”

“Your dad could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves”

Tommy: “They have a thin candy shell. I’m surprised you didn’t know that.”
Richard: “I think your brain has a thick candy shell.”

  9. I don’t think I watch movies as much as you all.. I couldn’t quote quite so many lines… In fact I’ve not even seen all of the movies that the lines came from. Oh well. It was a fun list to read. Jeff, I think I knew more of the lines/movies on your list. :)

  10. I am not sure that I’ve seen any of the movies on that origional list. So I added my own :)

  11. Wow- Jeff killed the EW list with his own stuff. However the whole “Princess Bride” thing is fascinating. Why would it dominate over so many ‘classics’? It was good — but not amazing.
Taxi Driver, The Godfather et al are in a whole other league.

    GHT

  12. Something is wrong when one movie has 1/4 of the list.

  13. I agree with Jeff and Glenn. The Princess Bride isn’t what I would consider a classic. I didn’t care much for the EW list. But I thought Jeff’s list was fantastic. I think everyone of those should have made the list, definitely classic lines. Way to go Jeff!!
