New Look!
As you can tell, the site looks a little different now. I did a little redesign and color enhancement to it. Many of you commented on how dull looking the other version was, so I’ve livened it up with some more color. I’ve also redesigned it to make it easier for me to make changes and enhance the site in the future. There is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done (comments and gallery need to be upgraded to the new version, and I need to put a header on the page), but it’s time for bed now. Also, I’m not sure if I like the color scheme yet, so that could change as well.
It’s hard to make sites that look great in every browser and every resolution on every operating system, so if things look really bad on your computer, send me that info and I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Glenn, did you just like the old color scheme better, or the whole design in general? The new design is a little more modular, “boxy”, than the old one, so I’m wondering if you don’t like that as much either. Thanks for your honest comments.

Yeah I will agree I liked the older style better. Reasons why: The white makes it very bright. I am not big on white backgrounds especially when its outlined in other colors. Sorry chris but I am not a big boxy type of person either though with a color modification it might be a lot better. Those are my sleepy comments.

Loved the retro feel of the title font and the the classy monochromatic design. REALLY liked the basic layout of the page with sidebars etc.
Really of the 20 or so blogs I regularly visit –I personally liked your layout the best. But like everything you never know how much you appreciate it until its gone. I’ll adjust.

i’m with ashlee… the first thing i thought was “is chris now running for office?” the your old format was quite cool. this is too patriotic for me and hurts my eyes.

My vote is the same as others…I really liked the old one. Why not use that format and add a splash of color to it? I can see the grindlines on the main logo in a blue or green. Make the hash mark borders or the font a different color? Dark yellow? Not too sure i like the Kentucky Blue background. I always thought that color hurts my eyes and causes “retinal burn-in”.

Thanks for all the comments on the new look. I appreciate your honesty about it. I never realized how much you all liked the old design and color scheme. While I’m going to try to keep the new design, I think I’ll change the color scheme back to what I did have and make it less boxy. Like I mentioned in the original post, I was never really sure that I liked the new color scheme, so hearing that you all liked the old one is refreshing…

I do think this is a bit too bright. I think a happy medium btw. this style and the other would be great! I thought the other could have used a little more ummff or color. Thanks for being so accomodating though Chris!

I have agree with the others. When I first opened the site my first word was WOW!! It definitely jumps out at ya.
