Olympics
Today is the opening ceremony for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Let’s hope and pray that all goes smoothly and safely and that this international event helps bring the world together for at least the two weeks the games are on. Oh, and GO USA!!!
What’s your favorite event? What will you tune in to see? The swimming events always seem exciting, as does the canoeing and kayak events. Of course, I’m a sucker for beach volleyball, too
In the upper right of the page, you’ll see a medal count that will automatically be updated throughout the games. Thanks to Glenn Teal for pointing out this cool feature.

With all the things happening in the world, and the money invested to keep the olympics safe I really hope it goes without any unfortunate event. These atheletes go to represent their country. This has nothing to do with politics, and I hope that terrorists don’t mess up the one event that brings the world together.

I enjoy the diving the most, and the track and field events. Go figure, its the two things I did in my youth

I am hard to pinpoint down a certain event that I like over the others. When it comes to the Olympics, I am usually game for almost all of them. Guess thats the true athlete coming out. In looking back over the years, the ones I usually end up watching are Track and Field, Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics, Basketball, hmmm I know there are more but those are the ones that stick out the most to me. Along with the opening ceremonies, I did catch most of that last night before I fell asleep on the couch

I think I agree with you Rachel. I pretty much watch about all of them except the boxing and maybe a couple others. I have had my tv tuned in most of the evening in the other room. Stopping occassionally to watch a couple events.
Snooze….whatever Jeff! The Olympics can be very exciting and fun. Though I will say I have caught myself in the last few years, catching some football. Still trying to learn all the rules of football though. Guess thats what happens, when your HS doesnt have football, you dont know much about it.

I have to admit it’s a grand tradition in the Wolgamott household to watch the Olympics, which I don’t mind, but I think our all-time favorite event is the gymnastics. It keeps me entertained-I remember watching Kerri Strug when she vaulted and let’s not forget my favorite honey on the rings-Blane Wilson!
