Keeping the bathroom clean has always been a problem with me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not nasty or anything like that, but it’s definitely not as clean as the rest of the house. The other chores I seem to be able to keep up with okay.

i’ve grown to hate mowing my lawn. My lawn seems to grow faster than all my neighbors

This was a difficult one to answer. I dont have a lawn so I dont not what my feelings about that is anymore. I chose cleaning the bathroom though that is probably the one thing that occurs semi regularly in my apt unlike the other chores. The bathroom cleaning was the one thing I really neverlooked forward to as a kid. The thing that probably gets accomplished least in my apt is the dusting or mopping the kitchen floor.

I didn’t really view vacuuming/dusting as a choice, because I just don’t do that, basically.
Not that I hate it that much, but I don’t see it as very necessary… I mean I guess I may do it when I move out. But I don’t live in one place long enough to require dusting or vacuuming, by my standards. Except for dusting my monitor perhaps. Which I jsut realized, I haven’t really had to do that. I think this different type of carpet creates less dust…

I agree with you Nick, though I do vacuum and dust it is very very rarely. Usually when I decide to dust is when my computer desk is so covered with dust, it is no longer brown. Then I get on a dusting spree and work myself through the majority of the apt. Vacuuming gets done a bit more than that but just when the dirt starts showing up on the carpet. Otherwise I dont really think about the fact that it needs to be done.

vacuuming/dusting - i do vacuum two or three times a week because my Cairyn Terrier loves to destroy her stuffedn animals and leave faux fur and stuffing all over the downstairs. Guess her name fits her (MegaByte)

Dishes all the way! I hate doing dishes! That’s why I think I’m going to buy a dishwasher ASAP!
I may be a weirdo but I love doing laundry! I like to sort, fold and iron clothes.
I also clean my bathroom very regularly. Though I think part of that is that my bathroom is the only room that I’ve really “decorated” with my own stuff unlike the rest of my house. I think it’s my “happy spot” in my house so I want to keep it clean.
I also like to vacuum and mop (except for the wringing it out part).
I’m laughing at myself as I say this b/c I clean bathrooms and do floors for this lady every Friday and every time I think about going, I cringe but then I get there and it’s all good. Just the thought is not fun, but doing it is ok.

type of carpet can make vacuuming more or less of a necessity.
as can dogs and allergies.

I hear that you’re supposed to vacuum once a week for every living/walking person/animal you have in the house. So if there are two people and a cat, that’s three time a week. One person and a dog…two times a week. I say “living/walking” because I don’t think pet fish, turtles and such count towards this

It’s also nice to know that we don’t have to vacuum once a week for those dead pets we have walking in our homes.

Ok, I was at Ashlee’s home tonight… while I won’t comment on her house cleaning, she makes a mean bananna pudding! THANKS ASHLEE!
Sep 9th, 2004 at 09:46:41
No problem Jeff. I guess I’m going to have to take my “Karibu” mat away from my door until I have time to clean my apt that way my guests will not have to hide their comments on my house cleaning.
So, ummm.. if anyone wants any banana pudding you can come eat some outside my house.

Since it’s getting rave reviews, you should put your banana pudding recipe on Nick’s website, if it’s not a closely guarded secret

Like your meatloaf.

Speaking of chores, that reminds me it’s time to take care of some of those necessary evils. And after living with Nick and Chris both, I think I could attest to the lack of cleaning in some instances. But nothing could ever quite attest to the lack of total cleaning in The Lodge. Isnt’ that right Nick?

I’ll think about it but keeping it a secret could be fun. It might work as a good ploy for getting company. hehe
And the meatloaf can’t be shared. It’s my mom’s recipe and I’m the only person she’s shared the secret with and anyone else who might have clues has to pretend they don’t know a thing or else!

Mine is dishes-I think it was constantly doing the dishes growing up that made me dispise the chore, but who knows. Chris-you are the cleanest man I have ever known. Having a lot of guy friends I see the way they live-let me tell ya it ain’t always pretty. Actually some of my good friends have commented to me how clean your house is so I give you kudos for that.

Well, David… you’re right. I am what I am.
But yes, my untidiness is overshadowed by that of the uncleanliness of the apartment itself.
