Comment Problems

I just upgraded the version of Movable Type that I’m using and I’m having some problems with the comments. If you submit a comment, you may not see if immediately. Apparently, this new version as a setting where I have to approve comments before they show up. I’ve changed this setting so I don’t have to approve them, but it’s not taking for some reason. So, for the time being, I’ll have to approve them. Just wanted to let you all know since you won’t be seeing what you post right away. Hopefully I’ll get this fixed soon. Thanks for your patience!

[UPDATE: Comment problem is fixed now. However, I had to remove my comment spam blocker, since it doesn't work with the newest version of Movable Type, so you may be seeing more spam comments than normal.]

  4. Okay what is this that I have to put my email address on my post in order to post?

  5. I meant in order to comment :-)

  6. I just tried to post a comment and a white screen came up that said, “you must define a comment posting template in order to post.” Let’s see if i can post this. It was in the general comments section that I just tried to post.

  7. So I’m guessing you don’t like that you have to have a name and email in order to comment? I know some people have posted anonymously by accident, so I thought requiring this would help with that. it doesn’t even have to be your real email address or name, just something. I would prefer to keep it unless if there is a great outcry against it. Shouldn’t really be a problem if the info is saved…

  8. I think you’re crazy Bryan. I can post comments in the “General Comments” section just fine, and your’s showed up there as well… Anyone else having troubles?

  9. I suppose that I can do that though it wasnt wanting to remember my email the other day. We will see when I get back home tomorrow night.

  10. I swear to you Chris I just posted again on the Leave a comment section. and it gave me the same exact message (this time I copied it) It was the following:

    An error occurred:

You must define a Comment Pending template.

  11. Okay, Bryan, try your post in the General Comments again. I think it’s a problem with my comment anti-spam program not allowing comments on older posts…
