Riddles
Here are a few riddles, hopefully one of which will stump you! Answers will come on Sunday, if no one has figured them out by then. Good luck and enjoy!
1. A farmer and his hired help were carrying grain to the barn. The farmer carried one sack of grain and the hired help carried two sacks. Who carried the heavier load and why?
2. A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, “If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50.”
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he’ll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
3. George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee. Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking soda. Using logic, is Elizabeth drinking coffee or soda?
4. “He” starts and ends 2 common English words. One painful in love, One painful in everyday matter. Do you know what these 2 words are?
5. There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
[UPDATE: Someone pointed out that there was no "question" for riddle #2. Oops, I seem to have left out part of it. Full riddle is posted now]

1. The farmer, because the hired help was carrying two empty bags.
2. The carnie wrote “your exact weight” on the paper.
3. She is drinking coffee, because she has two E’s in her name.
4. Heartache and Headache
5. I had to cheat on this one. This is tricky! I was thinking you removed the last letter each time, not any random letter. I would have never gotten it right without looking.
