Yahoo and USA Today recently conducted a poll to determine America’s favorite advertising symbols and slogans. The winners?

Top 5 Characters:
1. M&M’s Talking Candies — 22%
2. AFLAC Duck — 14%
3. Planter’s Mr. Peanut — 10%
4. Pillsbury Doughboy — 9%
5. Kellogg’s Tony The Tiger — 6%

Top 5 Slogans:
1. M&M’s “Melts in your mouth, not in your hands” — 17%
2. Almond Joy And Mounds Candy Bars’ “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t” — 9%
3. Wendy’s “Where’s the beef?” — 9%
4. United Negro College Fund’s “A mind is a terrible thing to waste” — 8%
5. Verizon Wireless’ “Can you hear me now?” — 8%

  1. I’m a huge M&M commercial fan so I’m with the survey on the top picks. Although I don’t like the new “color your world” thing so much. From looking at the other characters on the list we must not have too many things to choose from.
