This pegs my prayer life for sure. I know I pray for the Lord to take the situation away from me, to get me out of the mess I got myself in, rather than praying for strength to endure or overcome it. Goes hand in hand with that other great quote: “Sometimes he calms the storm and other times He calms His child.” Let’s all make an effort to be more open to His will in our prayer lives, more open for Him to give us strength rather than “running” away from our challenges and troubles. Remember, “[we] can do everything through Him who gives [us] strength” (Phil 4:13)
