Key Points from the Presidental Debate
For those of you who didn’t catch the 2nd Presidential Debate, CNN.com lists the Key points. Be sure to check them out so you can stay informed. For those of you that did catch the debate, I’d like to hear your opinions on it. Who do you think won? Were any new or interesting facts/points/issues brought up? Is CNN.com’s article unbiased enough in it’s listing of the key points?

John Kerry Won. In my opinioin that is. However he did make the mistake in saying that we went into Iraq alone. Tony Blair probably is a little upset with him…
I was pretty appalled at GWB’s response to one of his last questions. I know that part of being a politician is avoiding admission of guilt, but the question was so flat out that he shouldn’t been so obvious.
I’m referring to the “Mr. President, in your 4 years of being in office, please name 3 mistakes you made and how they were corrected”.
He didn’t name a single thing and completely didn’t answer the question.
I did think GWB did WAY better in this debate over the first one, but in the end, Kerry had it.
Paul
i couldn’t bring myself to watch the second debate after sitting through the first one. i know i should have to be more informed and to have an open political mind…however, both parties made me so angry the first time i couldn’t make myself listen to them say the same thing again. kerry is a much better debater than bush, he spoke well and made it seem like he knew what he was talking about–but he had no substance to anything he said. he gave no specifics, danced around the issues, and put down the president at any possible opportunity. bush sounded like somebody told him that morning that he was going to be in a debate, so unprepared. he didn’t sound like the president i’ve been backing for four years. he didn’t seem to have anything to say other than not to forget poland and beware of kerry’s voting tendencies. i don’t know, that night i didn’t want to vote for either one of them. i don’t think anybody won. america itself certainly hasn’t.
Hey, X! Thanks for stopping by!
You know, I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch either debate, for much the reasons you’ve described. I get too nervous watching Bush speak, and I cringe when I hear Kerry talk about what he’s gonna do to the country…
I would have to concur with what has been said in the previous two posts, except that I have watched them both. Otherwise I do express the same concerns.
Paul doesn’t like GWB to begin with…but if you want to read the transcripts from the last debate, and yes Paul GWB did say that he made some mistakes. What you are really looking for is for GWB to say that Iraq was a mistake, not just that he made some mistakes.

However, I thought Bush did a much better job in the last debate. I agree the first debate he wasn’t prepared for the attacks by Kerry. I did notice that Kerry didn’t mention anything about our troops not protecting the nuclear reactors instead of protecting the oil refineries after the attack in Iraq.
I should be accurate in my comments. Here is what Kerry said in the first debate regarding the invasion of Iraq….
“The only building that was guarded when the troops went into Baghdad was the Oil Ministry. We didn’t guard the nuclear facilities”.
