Road Wins More Valuable
ESPN.com is reporting that the NCAA championships committee will be change the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) so that road wins will carry more weight.
“Bob Bowlsby, chair of the NCAA Tournament selection committee, said 70 percent of home teams win during the regular season, making it imperative to factor that into the power rating system.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this affects the brackets and seedings at the end of the season, possibly boosting the fortunes of teams who have more losses but more quality road teams, over other teams with fewer losses but fewer quality wins. This change could also help the “Mid Major” conference teams if they can pull off some upsets throughout the season.

Maybe it will tempt some of the big schools to get on the road.
This will defnitely help some of the teams left out of the money loop and schedule loop such as Western. I *HATE* the term Mid-Major.
