New Addition
As I mentioned previously, I’ve been thinking about getting a cat. Well, I took the plunge today! Say hello to…er…my cat. I haven’t thought of a name yet, so if you have some ideas, pass ‘em along. Lori and I were thinking about Einstein (think Back to the Future), but I’m not sure yet. He’s about 8 months old and seems pretty intelligent so far. Not sure of the breed, but I think I heard he’s part Siamese at least. Special thanks to Jeff, and Jennifer, for the cat!
See some pics of my new housemate in the Gallery.

Not a cat fan… So I doubt you’d like any of my suggestions.

Glad you finally got a roommate
If the cat ahs gas, try a different type of food (but don’t change immediately, that is bad for their digestive tract…slowly mix the foods). We’ve had good luck with Iams (sp?) for KittyKitty (wieght loss control formula, of course). She was originall on Cat Chow and all my past cats ate that as well.

CONGRATS CHRIS! I don’t have a good name for him. I would call him President Clinton or somthin. (I just like that name) You should let your cat play with Cocoa. Cocoa is so good with cats *HEH* *HEH.*

I would have given you my cat!!!
But they make good pets for single guys. LOW maintenance, you can leave them for the weekend with no probs.
It is all grey.. so Smokey is an obvious name.
Some names of cats I’ve had :
Charlie
Sammy
Nicky

Smokey! I love it! Thanks Jeff.
Made it through the day with no problems. Smokey is remarkably intelligent and well behaved. His toe nails got clipped and he didn’t so much as skirm. He was an outdoor cat, adjusting to indoor life, and he used the litter box right off. Only issues so far is that he keeps knocking a plant (a fake one) off the coffee table that he likes, and that he’s curious about people food. So far, so good!

smokey, granite, dusty, etc. personally, i like to name pets after a week or so of owning them. a name that fits them after that. Thats how we got MegaByte for our puppy.

Chris, what works good for discipling a cat is a water bottle. My cat would get on coffee table and I would squirt it with a water bottle or gun and it jumped down. You want to avoid using your hand to spank the cat, or it will flinch when you try to pet it, seeing your hand come at him.
I can tell you whatever you want to know about cats.

Water bottles work well for dogs too. Now, if emily or I pick up the water bottle and Meg sees it..she immediately stops what she is doing
