Rolling Hills Community Church
As I mentioned previously, I went to Nashville this weekend to visit my brother (David). While there, we went to church at Rolling Hills Community Church on Sunday morning. My brother had mentioned that this was Chris Rice’s church, but that he hadn’t seen Chris in the three months he had been going there. Well, I get a phone call from my brother on Wednesday night saying that he talked to a friend of his, who went to the same church, and she said that Chris Rice was, in fact, there on Sunday. And what’s more, she said that Chris had been there just about every week over the three months David has been going to that church. My brother never even noticed him! Apparently, Chris sneaked in the back after the service had begun, to avoid attracting attention. I would have to say it worked!
But wait, there’s more! Ian Eskelin, formerly of All Star United fame, but now with his own solo career, also attends this church and was there on Sunday. Missed him, as well… And what makes that even more ironic is that David got me his new album, Save the Humans, for my birthday.
That’s not all, though! Jeremy Thiessen from the band downhere and brother of Relient K frontman Matt Thiessen attends community groups offered by the church.
Not enough? Okay, got one more for ya. One of the members of Tait is in my brother’s community group. (Help me out, bro; I forget which one…)
And to think, I was so close to meeting some of them…

I’ll see what I can do for you next time. I’m new to this whole buddy is great rockstar thing. I got use to it at UK so I guess I can work on it here. Just think of all the perks you got from me being at UK. I’ll see if I can get you to meet these guys sometime, if I ever recognize them. Have a good one

So what’s your motivation for going to church?

His name is Evan, and remember Chris, he is in a band, not 100% sure it is Tait. That’s just what one of my other community group buds told me.

Motivation for church is not who I will see. When I first started going to this church, I only knew that Chris Rice sometimes was there. The other folks I just found out about last night and only because I’m getting more involved with things at RHC. I’m sure you know that Ashlee, but just so others don’t think that my motivation is to see superstars, that is not my motivation. I really enjoy RHC and believe it is where I need to be and where God has directed me to be at this point in my life. Things could change once Elizabeth and I are married but right now for me down here by myself this is the right place.
