Christmas Time Already?
Wow, is it really that time of year already?!? Seems to be… Earlier this week, on the short trip to my parents’ place, I passed 4 houses with Christmas lights up and on already. I’ve seen several more since then and imagine many more will be up before Thanksgiving. I think it’s too early for all this. Let’s at least get through Thanksgiving first! What do you think? Too early? When will you put your decorations up?

AGREED! My neighbors already have lights up. I also turned on 94.1 a week or two ago and they were playing christmas music all day!!! UGH. Christmas really looses its joy for me more and more each year. By the time I have kids, people will start decorating after the 4th of july!!

I must admit I took my tree out of it’s box already. I think it was just the whole my own Christmas tree in my own house thing. I had a “tree” in Kenya but it was really a plant like tree (think Charlie brown). It could only handle garland. But I haven’t put lights or ornaments up yet. I figured I won’t be home for Thanksgiving and I won’t be at my house all of the “Christmas Season” so I wanted to get as much out of it as possible.
Make fun of me all you want. I knew I’d hear it when I did it… I tried to wait but I finally decided I didn’t care.

I may not be thinking of stringing my room up with lights yet… But I have already started my Christmas shopping!

Bryan…its a good thing to have already started your Christmas shopping. There is definitely nothing wrong with that. I would say that would be highly encouraged.
As for the Christmas decorations going up prior to Thanksgiving, I totally agree. Lets make it through one holiday before decorating for the next at least.
Though I have to confess that as of this morning most of my Christmas decoration were out and up. Though I do have a good reasoning for this and will post on my site
I dont agree, I think the weekend after Thanksgiving is quite early enough.
I do have one stipulation in my family though. The Christmas decorations have to be up prior to my Bday
