Let The Games Begin!
UK’s basketball season opener, and the start of my favorite time of year, was Saturday and they came away with a 77-46 win over Coppin State. Defense was good, we didn’t turn it over too much, and the freshman showed their stuff. Good start!
Next game: Tues, Nov 23rd at 7pm against Ball State at USBank Arena in Cincinnati, OH. And I’ll be there! Woohoo!
UK is starting the season #9 in the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. I think we can only go up from there. The thing I’m worried about is Tubby making all the players happy with their playing time. There’s so much talent at each position, it seems inevitable that some will be unhappy that they aren’t playing enough. I hope that we can get a solid lineup in place and stick with that, and not be changing it every game. Here’s to a good season!

Very good comments there at the end. I think Azuibuke got a bit frustrated, yesterday because he wasn’t getting the ball too much.
Sparks did a good job at hitting those threes. You can see the rest of my comments on my blog
Enjoy the game Tues.

UK definitely has a deeper team than they’ve had in a few years. They need to take advantage of it and play some run-n-gun ball, sub five at a time, and just wear the other teams out. They also have more talent than in the past few years, too. It should be a fun season.
