The Da Vinci Code Movie

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, but forgot about it until now. Thanks to Paul for first bringing this to my attention.

Because of the runaway success of the book, there will be a “The Da Vinci Code” movie. The movie will be directed by Ron Howard, and it looks like Tom Hanks will take the lead role, as professor Robert Langdon. The Dan Brown’s novel was controversial, spawning many books debunking the claims that he made. Now that the story is coming to the big screen, Brown’s claims will be viewable to an even larger audience. Being Hollywood, though, and knowing how they usually butcher the story when it’s made into a movie, I’m wondering how much of the controversial aspects of the book will actually be in the movie. As I mentioned in my review, the plot is interesting and fast-paced when viewed from a strictly fictional standpoint, so there’s enough to make a movie about there, without bringing in Brown’s bogus claims into the picture. Guess we’ll see…

  1. I would wonder if the controversial aspects wouldn’t be highlighted because it’s Hollywood. More free publicity from the media, more $$$.
