Well, we all made it back okay. David and Elizabeth went to Lexington and the rest of us made it back to Northern Kentucky. The usual 3.5 to 4 hr trip ended up being 7 hours, though. The Pennyrile and WK parkways were in pretty bad shape, with only one lane open most of the way and that lane was still snow and ice covered. We couldn’t go much faster than 35 mph. Things cleared up near Elizabethtown and the roads were in decent condition the rest of the way. There was definitely a lot more snow in Western Kentucky than up here in Northern Kentucky, but when you have to shovel it, any amount seems like a lot!
