The Saga Continues…
It’s almost 5am now, and I really need to get to sleep. Still no word from my webhost on their backups, though I just emailed them about an hour ago. Seems much longer than that. I’ve been looking through Google’s cache of my site, and with about 75 pages there on top of my last backup in November, I think I can recover most of my entries. It’ll be a long and arduous process, but I think I can get all posts back, or at least a vast majority. The downside is that all comments from November on will be gone. The cache has some comments, but the process of recovering and adding those back to the database makes it not worth it. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some good news. Oh, and two words for you all: BACKUP FREQUENTLY. Backup everything! It turns out that I did do a backup recently, but that was of just my website layout, gallery, and such. I failed to backup the database, which is where all the posts come from. Bummer…
