Music Survey

I saw this on Let That Be Enough Blog some time ago (read *very* long time ago). I should have been in bed an hour ago, that’s why I finally got around to doing it ;-)

1. Total amount of music files on your computer?
Um…approx. 5700 at last count.

2. The CD you last bought is:
Kutless’ latest, Strong Tower

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Blues Traveler - Mountains Win Again

4. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.

5. What CD are you looking forward to buying or thinking about buying?
I Wish We All Could Win by The Afters

6. Do you have any music on your computer made by friends?
Yep, got songs from Forever Pierced and Matthew Joyner.

7. What’s one song or artist* in every genre you like that you’d recommend to others? *added ‘artist’ here

  • Pop: Jeremy Camp
  • Rock: Audio Adrenaline
  • 90’s: Any song by Hootie and the Blowfish :-)
  • Alternative: Um, how ’bout the Supertones here…
  • Emo: um….
  • 80’s: Hmm, so many to pick from…How about Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners
  • Punk: Relient K

  • Soundtrack: The Last of the Mohicans
  • 60’s: Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry (was that this decade?)
  • Hard Rock: Kutless
  • 50’s: Rock Around the Clock, Bill Haley and the Comets (I think it was this decade…)
  • Funk: no clue whats considered funk…
  • Rap: dcTalk
  • Christian: How about Third Day here…
  • Classical/Singing: eh, don’t know off-hand. I’ll have to fill this in later I guess.
  • Classical/Instrumental: Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky
  • Christmas: Greensleeves

**I’m not too good at classifying music, other than by “I like it” or “I don’t like it,” so I might have butchered the genre choices above…

8. Any musical genres that you do not like?
Rap and opera

What are your picks/answers? If you’ve got a blog, copy and paste the questions to your site and add your answers. Then use trackback to let my readers know that you’ve posted it (trackback link is available in the comments on this post). If you don’t have a blog or website, don’t know what trackback is, or don’t want to post this on your site, simply leave your answers in the comments.

One Response to “Music Survey”

  1. I’m the same with classifying music (too many genres and I’m pretty sure some of them overlap, right?!); didn’t answer that question all that well either. ;)
