One Year Anniversary

Anniversary

Happy Anniversary, digitalwilderness!

One year ago today - 12:00am on May 1, 2004 - I published the first post on digitalwilderness. Hard to believe it’s only been a year, but on the other hand, it doesn’t seem all that long ago. Either way, the past year has seen a lot. I’ve managed to crank out 605 posts, which averages out to about 1.65 posts a day. When I started this personal blog, I didn’t think that I’d be able to keep up with it as well as I have. I know I’ve had some down time here and there, but I hope my readers will agree that I update often enough to keep them coming back. Over this time, about 80 of you have collectively posted approximately 2700 comments. Thank you one and all! Without you, I know I would not have had the motivation to keep writing.

Since I first went live, there have been several design changes, a hosting change, and a change in blogging software. And let’s not forget when I accidentally deleted the whole blog database! Keeping with that trend, expect several more design changes in the near future. I have no plans of switching from Wordpress as my blogging software, though. It’s truly a great program, easy to use and very flexible and fast. I hope that I’ve found a webhost that I can stick with in bluehost.com, too.

Over the past year, this site has also seen the addition of a new family member, a change in employment, the re-election of President Bush, the horrible tsunami that hit Asia and the engagement and/or marriage of several friends. Those are just a few of the things that I remember off the top of my head.

Here are some of the more popular posts from the past year, based on the overall interest level, the number of comments and/or the intensity of the debates.

A big thanks to all my devoted readers, who have stuck with me through the many changes and the down times when I haven’t posted much! Here’s to another great year!
