Resolving

0

Another deep, profound thought from Blue Like Jazz.

I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn’t resolve. But I was outside the Baghdad Theater in Portland one night when I saw a man playing the saxophone. I stood there for fifteen minutes, and he never opened his eyes.

After that I liked jazz music.

Sometimes you have to watch somebody love something before you can love it yourself. It is as if they are showing you the way.

–Donald Miller – “Blue Like Jazz”

As you go through your week of work, school or whatever you may be doing, think about who may be watching you and what they may be seeing in you. Are they seeing love for your Lord and Saviour in your words and actions, or are they seeing someone who is constantly grumpy and complaining about things? Do they see joy in your life, or just bitterness?

Something to ponder…
