No More Subway Stamps

Some of you may have heard about this, but for the rest…Subway is doing away with their Sub Club

Sub ClubEver since the 1980s, Subway customers have received a stamp for every six-inch sandwich purchased (two stamps for a foot-long); filling up a Sub Club card with the requisite number of stamps entitles the customer to a free sandwich. Alas, by the end of September 2005 the Sub Club will be no more, another victim of technology which makes counterfeiting coupons and proof-of-purchase stamps on home computer equipment all too easy.

  2. what?! GRRR!

  3. I found out pretty quick. I live on Subway.

  4. sad… I ate subway today too

  5. That stinks! I love Subway-owell, thanks for the fill-in Chris!

  6. doesn’t bother me too much. when they started requiring the purchase of a drink, I stopped collecting the stamps. They just need to make a better way to track the stuff i guess.

  7. I always bought two cookies in place of the drink. I’m surprised that they let me do that, since I bet it was cheaper for them to give away drinks as opposed to cookies…

  8. Man! I have a full card in my wallet! That’s no fair! Maybe I can still redeem it this coming weekend. If not, I’ll just walk out! haha I liked it better when it was just a free sub and you didn’t have to buy a drink b/c I drink water. That change happened while I was overseas. I figured that was to help curb people stealing them. Guess it didn’t work.

  9. You have until Sep or Oct to redeem them. I gotta find all my stamps. They’re scattered everywhere - car, work, home…

  10. that’s good — i have a full card. and i’ll try the two cookie thing too, since i’m a water drinker

  11. Oh well, just another reason to go to Quizno’s instead, if we needed one ;)
