Bush nominates Roberts to Supreme Court
President Bush on Tuesday selected U.S. Circuit Judge John Roberts Jr. as his nominee to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court.

I like this decision of Bush’s. He’s a smart fellow and well liked by his peers and those that have dealt with him. He shares my conservative values, though not obnoxiously so. He has a lot of people who will come to bat for him, to get him confirmed. We know that the Democrats will fight any conservative nominated, but some will be faught harder than others. Roberts is one that should get confirmed without too many problems, as least not with the threat of a filibuster that has plagued the Congress in recent months and years. I think the biggest issue here is the selection of a male instead of a female. With the retirement of Sandra Day O’Connor, there will only be one female on the Supreme Court. Honestly, I think a female will replace Rehnquist, who I’m sure will retire (or die) within Bush’s current term as President.
Any thoughts on this appointment by my readers?
