Anyone have, or know someone who has, or has an opinion on, the Motorola RAZR? I’m thinking about upgrading my phone plan and phone and was thinking of getting this phone. Looks nice and has lots of features that my current phone doesn’t have, but wasn’t sure how it actually performed. Amazon.com has a sweet deal and a rebate that brings the cost of the phone down to…FREE! Can’t beat that price, but I still don’t want to be stuck with a phone that doesn’t work.

Wow, words fail me. Please keep these familes in your prayers.

Yikes! Gas is over three dollars a gallon now! My gas light came on today (nothing out of the ordinary for me
), so I had to fill up for $3.09/gallon. The experts predicted it would rise over three dollars by the end of the year and they were right. Don’t think they expected on Hurricane Katrina contributing to the rise, though. Hopefully, now that President Bush has released oil from the reserves the prices will fall some, but some experts saying that we’ll be paying $4 a gallon in the not so distant future. I’m gonna need to take out a loan just to pay for gas!

Okay, I’m gonna buckle down and try to get a new website theme completed within the week. Not sure if that will actually happen, though, but hopefully I’ll at least get a good chunk of the work done. While the current design isn’t bad, it’s getting a bit stale for me. My loyal readers know how often I have changed the look of the site in the past, and this theme has been up for quite some time, so a redesign is long over due.
As my loyal readers, I’m asking for some input towards this new design. Namely, I’m asking for some feedback on the sidebar. The main focus of this site is the blog portion, so I don’t want the sidebar to take away from that, but the items in the sidebar do provide interaction and information which I think can be interesting and just plain fun. There’s so much that I could include in the sidebar, but many of you may find some things completely useless, so I want to get a feel for what you find interesting and what is just taking up space.
Place your votes below. Thanks for your feedback!

For all you Third Day fans out there, be sure to mark November 1 on your calendars. That’s the day their next project, Wherever You Are, will be released.
Keep your eye on ThirdDay.com and Gomers.net for updates and more information. Hopefully a song will be released for the radio soon, or at least some clips. I wasn’t a big fan of their last release, Wire, but I’m still anticipating their next project.

Other upcoming albums that I’m anticipating include:
- Aug 30 – Audio Adrenaline – Until My Heart Caves In
- Aug 30 – Casting Crowns – Lifesong
- Sep 13 – Switchfoot – Nothing Is Sound
- Sep 27 – David Crowder Band – A Collision
This puzzle appeared in the April 1960 issue of Popular Science.
Answer will be posted on Saturday.

[UPDATE: Here's the answer: The ages of the three people are 25,3, and 3. Anyone know how that's derived? I'll post that tomorrow.]
[UPDATE #2: Here's the logic behind the answer:
There are 8 sets of possible ages (derived from factoring 225), shown below with their sum in parentheses:
225, 1, 1 (227)
9, 5, 5 (19)
75, 3, 1 (79)
25, 9, 1 (35)
45, 5, 1 (51)
15, 5, 3 (23)
25, 3, 3 (31)
15, 15, 1 (31)
The census guy knows the house number, but he needs to ask another question. This must be because he doesn’t have enough info from the house number and the fact that the product of the ages is 225. This must mean that the ages sum to 31, since there are 2 sets of ages that could sum to 31: 25+3+3 and 15+15+1. By asking if the person answering the door is the oldest he can elimiate 15+15+1 where there is no unique oldest person.]
Google has launched Google Talk, it’s entry into the world of Instant Messaging.
They say talk is cheap. Google thinks it should be free. Google Talk enables you to call or send instant messages to your friends for free–anytime, anywhere in the world. Google Talk offers you:
* Choice: Get in touch how and when you want to–over email, IM or a call
* Quality: Talk through your computer but hear your friends as if they were in the same room
* Convenience: Your Gmail contacts are pre-loaded into Google Talk so inviting or talking to your friends is just a click away
Google Talk is based on Jabber and is open source, meaning that this is going to be big when it comes to enhancing and building upon the program that was released. Currently, Google Talk is in beta, so it has a lot of room to grow.
All you need to use Google Talk is a gmail account and an Instant Messaging client that is compatible such as Gaim, iChat or Google Talk’s own program. I’m on Google Talk now using Gaim, so look me up at kyblogger.
I added a new section to the sidebar titled “This Day Last Year.” This section will have the title of and link to any entries that I posted on the given day last year. I know I’m going to find it interesting to see what I was writing about a year ago, and I hope you do to. Feel free to comment on these old posts as well. It’ll be interesting if old debates are revived and if any views have changed over time…
I really do need to finish up the work on the new theme. Just too many things that I want to put in the sidebar, but it already seems cluttered and inefficient. But I digress…
