Survivor: Guatemala

This past Thursday was the season premiere of Survivor: Guatamala. This is the 11 installment of one of the first and most successful reality TV shows.

This time around, there were 16 castaways who were soon joined by two former Survivors: Bobby Jon and Stephenie. The adventure started with an 11 mile hike through the Guatamalan jungle and ended with the first contestant, 63 year old Jim, being voted it off.

After only one episode, it’s hard to really get a feel for the people, but here’s my run down so far.

Who I Like:
Margaret - She’s a 43 yr old nurse from Chardon, Ohio who has proved her worth by caring for the “tough” guys who exerted themselves too much already and found themselves cramped and vomiting.

Cindy - Born and raised in Maysville, KY, she now lives in Florida and is a zookeeper. Her twin sister still lives in the Cincinnati area.

Brian - He’s a 22 yr old Ivy League student who seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Bobby Jon and Stephenie were both tough competitors the first time around and had good personalities, so it’s good to see them back.

Who I Don’t Like:
Jamie
Brianna
Danni

Who are you rooting for? Who do you think will win?

  1. I think it looks like it should be an interesting one. I’m not big on the fact that one group gets to live in Mayan ruins…wonder how many gov’t teeth the network had to pull to allow that.

  2. I am with Paul I don’t think they should be living in the Mayan ruins either. I am sure that money had a lot to do with it.

  3. I agree. I don’t want to think about the damage the survivors and crew are doing to the area. This goes for all the Survivors, but especially this one, considering they’re not just on a beach somewhere, but living on something like the ruins.

  4. playing devil’s advocate here… how is that so different from tourism? people visit and walk around that stuff all the time.
