Congratulations, Linz Family!
Tonight was the finalé of The Amazing Race 8 and the winners of the race were…
…the Linz family, the team from right here in the Greater Cincinnati area!

They ran a hard race, remaining positive throughout and treating the others teams with respect (well, for the most part…it was a game show and race…
)
I’m glad they won and represented Cincinnati throughout.
Who Dey!
The Linz family is from Cincinnati, Ohio. This close-knit team is comprised of three brothers and one feisty sister who are so deeply rooted in Cincinnati that they have over 50 first cousins living in or near the Cincinnati area. The Linz’s parents have been married for more than 28 years.
Nick is the oldest on the team at 24 and works in sales in Buffalo, New York. He describes himself as hardworking and friendly.
Alex, 22, recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati and works as an emergency room tech. He says he is optimistic and proud.
Tommy, 19, is currently enrolled at Miami University of Ohio. Tommy, who played on the Miami University lacrosse team, is willing and outgoing.
Megan, 21, is the only female on the team. She also attends Miami University of Ohio and is studying Strategic Communications. Megan enjoys cheerleading and field hockey. Although she’s outnumbered by the boys, she and her brothers are very close.
The Linz siblings are well-traveled, athletic, very competitive and ready to embark on a race around the world.

I was glad they won. the family that lost their dad drove me nuts. Always praying for help to win an obstacle and claiming to be big time Christians, and then the second the Linz family (or others) got within sight, they started griping and name calling and “I hate so and so”. They deserved every bit of third place.

Linz family was not my favorite. Too many 20-somethings to be faily matched against other intergenerational families. Four athletic young adults were pretty much bound to win. Admittedly the Weavers were whiners which left the Bransons — Dad and his daughters from Wheaton as the best choice. Too bad.

You know, while I’m happy they won, it did seem like their team did have the advantage, at least in the physical activities. The Bransons would have been my next choice.
