2005 Goal Checkup - Dec

2005 has come and gone. Time for one final checkup and a grading on how I did with my goals for the year.

  • Find a job
Score: A (details) - Found a job in March, got a promotion and raise, then made a horizontal and vertical move within the company.
  • Find a church
Score: C - Haven’t found a church home yet, but I did visit a lot of churches
  • Have daily quiet time
Score: D - It’s only a D because I’ve gotten back into the routine of memorizing Bible verses this month. Otherwise, it would have been an F, something that will improve this year.
  • Eat healthier
Score: B - I’m eating more fruits and smaller portions most of the time, but I can still improve
  • Exercise regularly
Score: C - I play racquetball once, sometimes twice, a week, which is good, but I need to run or bike ride more often, to build up my stamina, and lift weights, to increase my muscle tone.
  • Practice my guitar and sax
Score: D - Just didn’t happen. I do better in an ensemble setting, so it’s hard for me to practice the sax. I did break out the guitar some, though
  • Upgrade my blog software to the latest version
Score: A (details) - Successfully upgraded and stayed upgraded throughout the year
  • Redesign my website
Score: B - Released 4 new themes, but I still need to fix some of them up so they work in all browsers. There are two more that I hope to release in the coming months, too.
  • Start my book
    Score: F - Nada
  • Keep in contact with “long lost” friends
Score: C - Did a pretty good job of getting and staying in contact with several “long lost” friends, even seeing some of them for the first time in years, but there are some others that it’s been harder to stay in contact with.
  • Spend less time at the computer
Score: C - Hard goal to achieve considering I’m a “computer geek,” but I think I did a fairly decent job considering that.
  • Cut back on TV
Score: D - Did pretty well for a while, during the summer months, but relapsed in the fall and winter.
