March Madness, Women’s Edition

The teams have been chosen for the The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament. UK’s women’s team, who had a great year, are a fifth seed and have a first round matchup against Chattanooga on Saturday, March 18.

Yeah, that’s a higher seed than the men’s team, who have an 8 seed. It’s very rare that something like this happens, but it’s about time that the women’s team got some of the attention. This year’s women’s team had the school’s best SEC season in 23 years, including a win over then-No. 1 Tennessee. The victory was just the fourth time in NCAA history that an unranked team had beaten the nation’s top-ranked squad.

  1. Women shouldn’t be allowed to play sports…

that’s just a discrace to sports in general…

    ew, gross!

    yea…

  2. I was a little shocked that Tennessee didn’t get a #1 seed. But check out that bracket they are in with North Carolina. Who ever comes out of that bracket is going to be pretty banged up, by far it’s the hardest bracket I’ve seen men’s or women’s.

  3. They made it past the first round. Maybe they can put up a little bit of a run here in the tournament.

  4. Both men and women’s teams.
