2006 Goals - July in Review

2006 Goal Tracking

  • Learn to whistle loudly using my fingers
Not as easy I thought it could be…
  • Learn three five card tricks
No new progress - still two down, three to go.
  • Learn five origami models
Completed - I’ve learned/relearned the crane, the flapping crane, the frog, the waterbomb and the iris.
  • Redecorate/organize my family room and den and spare bedroom
Finished the spare bedroom and I’m finished with the family room for the time being.
  • Get involved in a puppet team
I’ll be purchasing my first puppet this coming month.
  • Take a another small business development class
Completed - I went to the class “Secrets to Starting Your Own Business” in Feb. I’m waiting for the next round of free seminars offered by the SBDC at NKU
  • Get A+, i-Net+ and/or SAS certified
    No new progress.
  • Take a week-long vacation; visit another state/national park on my list
I’ve basically finalized when and where I’ll be going. I’m heading down to Shenandoah NP and the surrounding areas the third week of October. I hope to hike a section of the Appalachian Trial. (There’s 101 miles of the AT in Shenandoah.) Any one want to join me?
  • Find a church home
Still frustrated in the search. I’ve heard about a good church whose preacher teaches about the historical context as well as application to the modern world, but it’s almost an hour away…
  • Have a consistent daily quiet time
I’m starting to “feel” it again, which makes me happy.
  • Memorize 200 Bible verses
Only 60 left, and boy is my head getting full!
  • Swing dance once a month on average
    Haven’t gone since last month…
  • Be more punctual
I made it to every softball practice and game on time :-)
  • Run a 5K
    Completed

  1. Thought I would comment on the 5k run since my brother-in-law is trying to get me to do a duathlon, run 2.4, bike 13.7, then run 2.4 again…what have I gotten myself into????

  2. Maybe you should do a spring triathlon instead. That is, if you like swimming better than running :-)

  3. I swim worse than I run…when we going biking again? Plus I owe you a dinner somewhere…

  4. How about we ride when the temp gets below 90… :-) I’m miserable in this hot weather. Bring on the Fall! We can shoot for dinner whenever, either before our next ride or some other time.

  5. We can wait to ride, I don’t have a problem with that….I’m riding heat or no heat though, need to keep it up.

We can find time for dinner somewhere.

  6. You have another ride scheduled already, or just working up to the dualathlon? I haven’t been running in almost a month, due to the scorching temps and softball. I really need to run and ride again. Fall can’t come soon enough! Have I said that already? ;-)

  7. I have a small family ride scheduled. Melissa, the boys, Kenzie (i’m pulling her) and I are doing an 11-15 mile ride from the Indy Zoo, a lap on the speedway and back to the zoo. But otherwise it’s just riding to be riding.

  8. That certainly sounds like a fun time for the family!

  9. I have that AWESOME card trick I can show you….I’ve only ever shown one person in my life, but I guess I’d be willing to show you…if you could figure it out :-)

  10. I’ll take ya up on that card trick. You can consider me your apprentice…Darth Vaught :-)

  11. let me know when the next business seminar is at nku and i’ll go with ya. i’ve been meening to start going to those for a while, but never got around to it. that’s pretty bad concidering my minor was entrepreneurship.

  12. Will do. Right now, they’re doing a “Humana Health Benefits Series” that lasts into September. Hopefully, when that’s over, they’ll go back to the series that will benefit us!

  13. Oh, and the series they’re doing now has a fee. We want the free series! :-)
