I remember when we went to see Drum Corps. Those were some fun times! On a side note, I got your message from Friday night. Unfortunately, I was at school until 11:30 at night b/c the other teachers and I had to take down and redecorate our rooms since our official 1st day is Tuesday (tomorrow). Dan and I will be at Ultimate today though. See you then!

The Green Machine Show rocked. Go Cavies. Have to say them and the Cadets are and have been my favorites since back in the day. Good show tonight though. Too bad I couldn’t have been there to watch it.

Yeah, the Cavies show was good, but I’m still a bit biased against them since they tried to run over LT and I
I’m really glad to see my Phantom Regiment back towards the top. They had a few down years, but this one was a good one!

They tried to run over you, or you tried to break ranks….Phantom’s show was pretty good. I’ll have to catch it when they replay it so Elizabeth can see what it is that I was so pumped about last night. She didn’t get to see any of it, so that way I can describe to her why some things are so incredible, and the forms they make why they are so cool. But anyhow, it was a good one. Is Cincinnati Glory still around?

They tried to run over us wit their big ol’ semi. It was freaky!
I haven’t watched the championships yet, but hope to get around to it this weekend. I’ve got it recorded if you need me to make a copy for you to show Elizabeth. They’re only showing it on ESPN2 one other time that I know of, and it’s split up into two 1hr segments on different days. Hope she gets to see it!
Nope, Cincinnati Glory isn’t marching anymore. There was Cincinnati Tradition for a few years, but they disbanded as well. No core here now, as far as I know.

If you have a copy it could be good. For some reason what they showed on ESPN seemed like it was shorter than usual for shows. I’m not sure if they edited out parts or not. But the Green Machine show rocked. Have to see if the DCI version shows everything, because it really seemed like it was not as long, you’ll have to let me know. Some of the usual power house corps I felt disappointed in, let me know what you think.

What I have is what was on ESPN2. Yeah, they only showed a portion of the lower ranked corps, only one song of the show. They should have shown the entire show for the top 4 at least, if not the top 6 or 8. I have last year’s championships, too. Though I haven’t seen the show yet, I was really surprised that the Cadets scored as low as they did. The Madison Scouts, too. Usually those corps are higher.

Finally had a chance to watch the championships tonight…Stink, part of my recording was lost - right at Phantom’s show! I’m gonna have to find it on the net somewhere. I didn’t think the Cadets’ show was good at all. Very disappointed. The Cavies were very much an impressive visual feast, though.
Phantom just may have had them if not for the visual score. Would you want to go in and get a DVD? I think I could get a couple of others in on it too and make copies for all of us. I’d like to see this year’s shows from all kinds of different angles, rather than the edited version that ESPN2 had. I get frustrated watching it because they zoom in on the guard too much, especially when I want to see a particular form…

We have the whole show on our DVR…I could put it on a tape or DVD if you ask politely
Sep 10th, 2006 at 01:39:44
I found it on the web. Thanks, though.

Yeah, I hear you on that one about the zooming on things at particular times when there is something really cool going on somewhere else around the field. I could go in partly with you if you want to. But yeah, highly disappointed in Cadets. I looked at some things online, but haven’t found good tapes of it published online. Let me know about getting the championships. Elizabeth, as well as others, think I’m a crazy band nerd….

The more recent finals DVDs allow to you pick from any of a bunch of different angles when watching a show. There’s a camera from overhead, on the drumline, etc. Pretty awesome, but expensive. It’s $98 for last year’s finals, I believe. I’ll let you know if I can find others interested going in on it.
I did find the ESPN 2 2005 and 2006 finals online. I downloaded those and burned them to DVD, so I’ll give it to ya next time we meet up. Quality isn’t great, but it’s something at least.
