Gameage

Every few months, Patrick, Ben and I get together for gameage. Yay gameage! We’ll stay up well into the early morning hours playing video games. This has been going on for years now, since our college days. Yeah, call us geeks if you want, but we enjoy it! :-) There’s nothing like crushing enemies and demolishing cities to get over a rough week at work. And a rough week it was…

Typically, we’ll stick to computer games, basically having a LAN party. While we’ll try to play a variety of games, we tend to favor a few in particular. The few that are worthy include:

Starcraft (the best game ever)
Command and Conquer: Red Alert II
WarCraft III (and more specifically, the DOTA mod)
StarWars: Galactic Battlegrounds
Unreal Tournament

Very rarely, I’ll talk them into playing Worms.

Occassionally, we’ll break from the PC and play console games, such as Dungeons and Dragons Heroes or Legends of Everquest.

Any gamers out there? What are you fave games?

  1. Right now…Call of Duty 2. I spend most of my evening playing it online. A good LAN game would be Battle for Middle Earth II.

  2. As for computer games, the multiplayers I like are:

1)Empire Earth (my favorite computer game of all time)
    2)Battlefield 1942
    3)C&C: Red Alert II
    4)Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    5)Starcraft

yea, i’ll play starcraft becasue so many other people I know do. And, aside from Empire Earth, Starcraft is the one other RTS game that I can handle well. (I pretty much lose every game of Ra2 miserably hah). But honestly, I don’t find Starcraft all that intruging. I don’t hate it, but after just a few matches I don’t want to pick it up for a few months–I’m bored with it.

Don’t play many multiplayer console games because the only thing anyone my age will play is Halo, and I hate multiplayer Halo. Dunno why people like it so much. If you want a good console shooter, I’d pick up Call of Duty or Red Faction II. Those are some good shooters.

My all time favorite console games are:

1)Zelda: OoT (any Zelda game really)
2)KOTOR (I’ve played both over so many times–especially the first one)
    3)Worms 3-D
    4)Final Fantasy 9
    5)Harveset Moon

I play more console games than pc, so that list could go on heh.

If I ever get my own computer for my room I’d say the first game I’d pick up would be Star Wars Galaxies. I’ve pretty much waited for a game like that my whole life. The day I can finally play it shall be and uberly awesome one haha.

I may also get into Guild Wars or World of Warcraft, I hear those are fun.

Well, hey Chris, I know you’re a Worms fan. I reeealy enjoy Worms 3-D. What do you think of it? Or are you more a traditonalist (basically a Worms Armageddon fan)

Eh, yea. I know my video games hah. THough I usually keep it to myself.

    well whatever.

    Peace.

  3. I’m with you on Starcraft Bryan…I don’t really get into it either.

  4. Bryan, I’m currently working my way through WoW, so now’s a good time to join if you want some help and such :-)

Yeah, I’m a Worms traditionalist, though that’s mainly because I haven’t played much of 3D.

  5. Yuri, or RA2…is what I ahve been playing mostly. Been getting into C&C Generals too…but I like a lot of different games…problem is I suck at most of them…

  6. RA2 is pretty much all I play. I get bored with FPS games and go online to look for cheats. I tried playing the new Xmen game for the pc, even went out and bought a controller. Still didn’t like it.
I did like the James Bond PC games

btw - in firefox when i tried to post, it kept saying;’
Invalid security code. Press your browsers back button and try again.
but i wasn’t bein prompted for one. It even has “Welcomg back Paul” above the message box. I had to go thru IE and type in my user info and security code.

  7. Paul, Firefox hides the information…probably a security feature. You have to click on the icon above the text box. I think it is a lock (sorry, I’m at work using IE right now). After you do that, all the information including the captcha image will appear.

  8. I take that back…you have to click the (Change) and add the security code. IE is doing it as well now that it has my info, so it’s not just a Firefox thing. I’m guessing that is in the code Chris?

  9. Oh yeah, I made a change to fix that in the previous version of the theme, but it wasn’t on my list to fix for the updated theme. I’ll fix that as soon as I get some time. It happens whenever you’ve enabled cookies and allow it to remember your form info. If you clear out the cookies for this site, all the form boxed, including the security code, will show up.

  10. OK, the comment issue should be fixed. Let me know if you still have problems
