I finally got a new mattress! Thanks mom and dad! I was going to wait until I got my tax refund, but they offered to buy it as my Christmas gift, so I gladly accepted.

I ended up with the Orthopedic Pillow Top from The Original Mattress Factory. Seemed like a good quality mattress at a good price.

I didn’t shop around as much as I probably should have. I hate shopping to begin with, especially this time of the year, and I hate mattress salespeople that talk your ear off. I did go to a couple stores and tried out some, though. It’s really hard to tell what it’s going to be like sleeping it an entire night from just a few minutes laying on it in the store, but I at least got an idea. I was torn between the “pillow top” model and the “firm” model, which was the next step down in firmness, but ultimately decided on the pillow top. I’m definitely not an ultra-plush mattress guy, but I don’t like sleeping on boards, either. I’m right in the middle, and this pillow top close to it.

After a few nights of sleep on it, I’ll let you know how it feels!
