Flying Pig, Here I Come
No turning back now…I’m officially registered for the Flying Pig 5K. I’m feeling a whole lot better about my training this year than I did during last year’s training, which was for the Redlegs Run for Home 5K. I’m not sure if my co-workers will actually do this and my friend Carrie that supported and ran with me for the Redlegs 5K is doing the marathon, so I might be on my own this time around. Anyone else up for it? Jeremy? ![]()

Who so close to Kentucky has a race on Derby Day? Okay so prior to going to Georgetown, I would have barely ever thought about this, but after being in the area for so long. It seems very odd to have events on Derby Day when they are in close proximity to Louisville and much in the heart of Horse Country. I would consider Cinci to fit into both of these categories. Just an observation.
PS. I might be working towards a 5K in May myself. More to come.

Ok, I’ve started training for it and I’m seriously thinking about going ahead and signing up. What’s the difference between the regular and chip timed? I’m assuming they still keep the time if your not chip timed don’t they? I’m guessing that is just for the “serious” competitors?!?

Awesome! They’ll keep your time if you don’t use the chip, but it’s from the second they start the race, rather than when you cross the starting line (if you’re at the back of the pack, it takes time to actually cross the starting line). The chip makes the time more accurate and puts it on the website or something too, I believe. I’m doing the chip timed run, so if we stay at the same pace you’ll have a better idea of what your exact time is.
