Transformers
One word: Awesome! I was hoping it would be good, but given how other similar adaptations have been, I was keeping my expectations low. Sure, there were some corny moments, but overall, it was a really good movie. And something that surprised me - it was funny! Good work Michael Bay! And kudos to whoever got Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in the cartoon series, to also voice him in the movie. I had some minor gripes about certain plot elements, the size of the humanoid robots seemed very out of the proportion to the vehicle version and they went overboard on detailing the robots (not near as plain and simple as the toys or cartoons), but none of that detracted from the overall experience. Good stuff!
I think we’ll be seeing a sequel…
Constructicons or dinobots, anyone? Or maybe the Maximals and Predacons from Beast Wars…?

I’ve read that Shia Lebeouf and some others have contracts for three Transformers films. That Barricade, Scorponok, and Starscream survived the film, with two of them still remaining on Earth, a sequel is a necessity for us fans.
I’ve heard rumors that the Dinobots may be in a sequel, as well as Shockwave and Unicron, but it’s all hearsay at this point.
I wrote a brief review of the film here if you’re interested. As my step-brother praised it, it’s “impossibly good”!

Ah, thanks for the news on the contracts and sequels. Definitely looking forward to them! Nice review, too. Lol, I like that - “impossibly good.”

I liked the movie, but didn’t love it. I thought it was a little too corny at times. I have a feeling the sequels will be much better. I thought some scenes were really drawn out longer than they should be.

Six words:
Neon Genesis Evangelion live-action movie.
(It’s in the works right now!)
Now that, my friends, is a classic mecha series!
As for Transformers, I don’t like how they made them look in the live-action… nothing like the cartoons at all! Then again I don’t care for Transformers… it’s so… American… blah.

Preface: Not a movie that I was dying to go see, there are several others out that I would have liked to see, but Transformers and Shrek 3 were playing at the drive-in this weekend. Shrek 3 was on my list of to see movies, and I figured it worthwhile to see Transformers as well.
Saying all that, the beginning of the movie, I began to wander what the heck was going on and if there was going to be any plot to the movie. But after it got started, I really enjoyed the movie. Not sure that I can quite go to love the movie but it was pretty darn good thats for sure. Definitely, interested in seeing a sequel.
As for Shrek 3, I was not overly impressed with it and thought it lacked some plot. Then again it might have been that I was quite exhausted after midnight on Friday night.
