Where’s Vaught-o?
I’ve been uncharacteristically quiet in the blogosphere lately, having not posted for a week. Part of that is due to not having the time, part due to not having anything to say and part due to having other things on my mind other than the blog. Shocking, I know.
Hmmm, so what’s been going on in the last week or so…
I had the week of July 23-28 off work, which was VERY nice. Unfortunately, I couldn’t work out any big trips, but it was just good to be away from the office. I did get to hang out with some friends from Georgetown one day and made a trip to the Red River Gorge another, so it wasn’t a complete wash. It was nice to get down to RRG again, spend some time in nature and hike the Gray’s Arch trail. I sat myself down on a rock, did some reading, thinking and napping. Very relaxing time and good to get away.
Last weekend, Amy and I got to spend some time together. We went to her co-worker’s wedding in Richmond on Friday, a DCI show in Indianapolis on Saturday and saw a Shakespeare play (”Much Ado About Nothing”) in a Cincy park on Sunday. The DCI show was nice - it was one of their bigger events, so there were many corps, and top corps at that, in attendance. My Phantom Regiment came in third, not too shabby considering their show isn’t the best this year. The surprise was the Blue Devils beating the Cavaliers. Not that I’m sad about that… Some of the “lower seeded” corps had really good shows, but as is true in many sporting events and such, it’s hard for them to move up with the dominance and expectations from the higher corps. It gets really frustrating when only 2 corps win year after year…I’m beginning to rant, so I’ll stop there.
Right now, I’m relaxing at my grandparents’ farm down in western KY. It’s hot!!! And it’s only 11am… Probably going to be too hot to even play cornhole or bocchi ball. Oh, well, it’s still good to hang out with the fam and enjoy the slow pace of life down here.
Needless to say, I’m tired of being in a car. Seems like all I’ve done lately has been in the car. I wonder how many years away we are from a teleporter…
Well, I guess that’s it for now. See ya in another week! Just kidding…hopefully…

On occasions, it is good to just stay home and relax. Enjoy the time on the farm even if it is a bit warm. Being outside is a great relaxing tool.
If I couldn’t drive anymore and enjoy a nice drive, especially through the country, I would go insane. Just work on spreading your trips out next time
I feel you though after two trips to Cinci and Lex last week alone.

Resting at home is as good as of a vacation as going somewhere sometimes. The rest and relaxation is good for the body and soul.
Enjoy the outdoors even if it is a bit hot. It is good for the soul.
Don’t wish cars away just yet. I would go crazy if I couldn’t get in the car and drive somewhere and not just around the corner, but a nice trip especially on a beautiful day. I never realized how much I really enjoyed driving until I wasn’t doing it anymore and then would get in the car to make a trip back to Kentucky. It was a wonderful feeling.
Just need to work on spreading trips out instead of all in one week. I feel you on that after two trips to cinci and two to Lex in one week.

Okay your website really doesn’t like me today. Sorry for the duplicate posts. I didn’t realize the first had gone through because the site went crazy on me. Surprised the second posted because I got an error message after it finally processed.

Don’t complain about it being hot! It’s western KY, it’s not that hot. Try living on the gulf coast!

At least you have a lot of water close by!
