Woohoo, no class tonight! Instead, I get to relax with a book and a hot cup of chai tea, watch a new episode of The Office later, and catch up on some chores (ugh, I hate ironing). All after blogging, of course…

At work, we deal with doctors, both medical and PhD, on a frequent basis. My co-worker had a chuckle the other day at one who wrote “wanna” in an email. Doctors are typically considered professional and you wouldn’t expect them to use “wanna” or other unprofessional vocab, slang words or language murder in B2B communication. That got me thinking, though. With the current generation growing up with instant messaging, text messaging, etc., how will professionals of the future communicate? Will we see slang, shortcuts and TLAs as common forms of communication in all industries and professions in the future? Will that communication still be considered “unprofessional?”

Within the next week or two, I hope to start a series titled “Blogging The Bible.” In this series, I’m going to blog through some of the books of the Bible, along the same vein as my Conversation with God several weeks ago (though these posts won’t be rants). I’ll give my thoughts, real-life stories and whatever else comes to mind in each post. I’m planning on hitting the books of James, Philippians and part of 1 Corinthians for starters. I’m now sure how well this will work out, especially with my second class starting soon, but I feel this will be a good way for me to better understand and apply what I study, as well as get feedback from a community.
