‘Tis the Season?
I was shopping at Meijer last night…Christmas decorations and such were all ready out. Not just one row, but practically the entire seasonal section of the store was Christmas stuff. Trees, ornaments, wreaths…
Gimme a break! Can’t we at least get through Halloween?!?
I read an article a couple weeks ago that said stores were kicking off the holiday season earlier this year than ever before because they weren’t expecting to meet goals during the traditional shopping season that starts after Thanksgiving. However, the article said that the stores weren’t going to advertise or promote these as “holiday” sales just yet. Well, at least there’s some restraint… :-/
Give it two or three more years, and we really will be shopping for Christmas in July.

Yeah, annoying isn’t it. I think every year they say they are kicking it off earlier than ever, and it’s probably true. I refuse to have anything to do with Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving is over…then I can enjoy Christmas!

I actually saw Christmas stuff up at least a month ago if not before at some places. I can’t recall the first date but it was a long time ago. For all I know it was in July
I agree. Let’s get through one holiday before we start pushing another holiday.
I love Christmas. It is my favorite holiday, but I prefer to start the celebration the day after Thanksgiving and not before. But trust me Friday after Thanksgiving it is time to celebrate Christmas.
