Christmas Recap

Christmas has come and gone. Now it’s back to work… I’m not very motivated, so I thought I’d squeeze in a quick blog post.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, enjoyed time with family and friends and took advantage of the days off work and/or school to relax. I had a great Christmas; it was really good to see family that I haven’t seen much lately. As usual, I ate more than I should have…The food is so good, it’s hard not to! Besides, it’s not often that I get meals like this, so I don’t feel too bad about taking advantage of the opportunity. ;-)

I took the Wii to my paternal grandparents’ house and it sure brought a lot of entertainment. Most of the family, including my grandparents, enjoyed bowling and grandpa went golfing. My 8 year old third cousin played for the first time and kicked butt in bowling. Good times all around! Just confirms what most people know - that the Wii is for anyone, is fun and social. I need to get another “party” game, since all I have is Wii Sports. I’m thinking of Wii Play, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Wario Ware Smooth Moves or Mario Party 8.

Yesterday, my brother, sister-in-law and I hit the slopes at Perfect North for some skiing fun. I enjoy skiing, but haven’t been in a few years, so it was good to have the opportunity to go again. We did many of the trails and David and I worked up to a single diamond slope. My favorites are Far Side and Backstage, the long, intermediate slopes. I decided next time I’m going to give snowboarding a shot. I used to be a skateboarder (very very loosely defined) in my youth, so maybe I’ll take to it. ;-)

Busy times ahead - gatherings and parties each night from now until next year - and there are many chores and projects I want to get done before work picks back up in full force and the spring semester starts. Don’t expect much blogging from me in the coming days, but I should have plenty to write about when I do get time.

Have a safe and happy New Year!

  1. I vote for Wario Ware Smooth Moves. Emily and I play that at our friends house and its tons of fun. So many different activities to do, it never gets boring. It also makes you do some really funny stuff!

  2. Mario Party. Wario Ware is… meh, Mario and Sonic is UBER meh.

  3. I rented Wario Ware…yeah, don’t like it so much. Played Mario and Sonic last night at the Maddoxes…liked it better than Wario Ware, but it’s tiring and can get complicated. Mario Party is good, but it can be slow. I’m hoping Winter Sports will be good.
