New Digital Camera
My digital camera drowned during a recent canoe trip so I’ve been researching what’s out there in order to replace it. My main wish list items are small size (easily fit in pocket), good battery life and inexpensive.
I think I’ve found a winner: Canon PowerShot SD1100IS
Good reviews on Amazon.com and elsewhere, the feature [...]
AVI to DVD Help
Help! This has been a problem I haven’t been able to solve for some time now, but I know there’s got to be a way to do it, so I’m caving and asking for some help. I’ve done some googling on this, but haven’t found anything that works 100% of the time, or [...]
Jott
Now here’s a handy new service, one that I’ve taken advantage of many times since I signed up.
Have you ever …
… felt like you don’t remember things you should? Gifts to buy, a stroke of genius, a song to download, a cab fare?
… wanted to send an email or text message to somebody while in [...]
Wow-Wii
I finally had my first experience with the Nintendo Wii yesterday! My cousin got one for Christmas and brought it to our family Christmas gathering. I knew it was small, especially compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360, but after seeing it in person, it really is compact, about the size of a [...]
New Monitor
After 10 years and three computers, my 17″ Dell CRT monitor finally gave out. It just so happened that this occurred while I was working on re-installing the drivers for my video card, so I was worried that I had messed up the card somehow. After some quick testing, I confirmed it was [...]
Ubuntu
I won’t be posting much in the coming week as I work on getting PC back into shape. As I tend to do every so often (sometimes it feels like too often), I’ve wiped my system and I’m starting from scratch. I think it’s been a little over a year and things were [...]
Microsoft Firefox
Microsoft(R) Firefox | We’ve Made it Better
One of the marketing points:
Cut through the clutter.
Unexpected is good. An exceptional streamlined browsing technology known as the Cut Away Effectâ„¢, randomly prevents 9/10 of the browser from rendering properly in order to save system resources. This is not a bug.
Wii
I’m not much of a gamer these days, and when I do play, it’s typically PC games. I can’t remember the last time I’ve turned on my Game Cube.
That could change with Nintendo’s next gen console - the Wii. Have you heard about this thing? I’ve been reading reports on it for [...]
One Red Paperclip
Have you all heard about this? Wish I could come up with crazy ideas like this…
Kyle MacDonald from Montreal had one red paperclip and a goal of trading it for a house. Starting on July 12th, 2005, he’s made a series of trades for bigger or better things trying to reach this goal. [...]
Find My Cover
Ever burn a CD or DVD and wish you have the actual cover art for the CD/DVD case?
If so, then here’s a nice site for you:
FindMyCover.com
Basically, the site queries Amazon.com for album image based on the search criteria and returns all applicable full size images. I looked up some lesser-known bands, even misspelling one, [...]
